Some things worth knowing about Warren Suicide
Makes Gorillaz look like The Archies
there's a hell of
a party brewing. 9/10. - NME
Warren Suicide consists of Berlin-based Lucki, Nackt and Cherie
with the new addition of drummer Bertil. Let Lucki's seething
vocals, Nackt's guitar and Cherie's darkly comic drawings drag you
to goth-world. Brilliant. - The Guardian
Taking simple percussion and blown-out vocals to new heights,
this German band makes the ominous chorus (My bloody boy)
sound like a nursery rhyme, following it with a guitarlike noise
that could've been played by Daydream Nation-era Lee Ranaldo
- SPIN, 8/05
After the success of their first mini album culminated in a rare
9/10 review from NME and a stunning live performance for Steve Lamacq's
Radio 1 show, Berlin's Warren Suicide are back with the abrasive,
swaggering synth-rock of 'I Know You', released on Fume recordings.
Warren Suicide write, program and produce all their material and
with I know You the band hooked up with legendary producer
Adam Wren (Leftfield) to mix in London
I Know You is out now on CD and 12" in the UK/Europe and features
remixes from The Dub Pistols, Stu Lo-Fi and Transporterraum and
marries an urgent guitar riff, ethereal trumpets, monotone pianos
and Lucki's scorched vocals with a sweetly melodic chorus from the
band's Cherie. 'I Know You' casts a nod at the current zeitgeist
whilst defiantly exposing its own anarchic originality.
These guys serve up some very tasty electro dance punk, with
bags of attitude and a real edge to it. Grinding guitars clash with
a mish-mash of quirky loops and samples to create something pretty
special
a breath of fresh air - FILTER, 2/05
I Know You will be followed by an expanded edition of their mini-album
featuring 5 new tracks, 16 page booklet and a DVD with live performances,
videos and band interviews.
Having recently completed a rapturously received tour of the UK,
along with storming shows in L.A., and at Europe's 2 top festivals,
Glastonbury and Roskilde, they took the UK media by storm. Die-hard
fans Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq from BBC Radio 1, XFM, and even
LA's Indie 103.6 are set to assure Warren's most successful year
to date.
Warren Suicide will perform various gigs in NYC this September
